Sheriff warns of phone scam
A report of a phone scam was received by the Henry County Sheriff?s Office yesterday.
Reportedly in the scam, a caller with a foreign accent offered money to a Henry County resident through a government grant program.
The caller requested that the resident send them a $150 deposit through Western Union. Upon receiving the deposit, the caller stated that he or she would then send the resident $7,000.

A report of a phone scam was received by the Henry County Sheriff?s Office yesterday.
Reportedly in the scam, a caller with a foreign accent offered money to a Henry County resident through a government grant program.
The caller requested that the resident send them a $150 deposit through Western Union. Upon receiving the deposit, the caller stated that he or she would then send the resident $7,000.
The resident did not fall for this scam. The sheriff?s office warns residents of the county to be aware of scams.
