Sheriff?s office investigating rural mailbox vandalism
Henry County Sheriff?s office received a couple of reports Feb. 17 of mailbox vandalism.
The first report was of mailbox damage in the 2300 grid of 200th Street. During the investigation, it was found that during the overnight, an unknown person struck the resident?s mailbox with a blunt instrument. The mailbox was destroyed and damage was estimated at less than $100.

Henry County Sheriff?s office received a couple of reports Feb. 17 of mailbox vandalism.
The first report was of mailbox damage in the 2300 grid of 200th Street. During the investigation, it was found that during the overnight, an unknown person struck the resident?s mailbox with a blunt instrument. The mailbox was destroyed and damage was estimated at less than $100.
Shortly thereafter, the office received a second report of mailbox vandalism in the 1900 grid of 140th Street. An investigation revealed a similar incident of a mailbox being struck with a blunt instrument. Damage to the mailbox was estimated at less than $100.
Both incidents are believed to be similar and potentially by the same offenders.
