Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to an accident at 12:08 a.m. Friday on Highway 34/163 approximately three miles west of Henry Jefferson Avenue. A caller advised witnessing a vehicle going into the ditch. Irvin G. Redburn of St. Louis was driving a 2003 Kia Sedona van east on Highway 34/163 and fell asleep at the wheel. Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office responded to an accident at 12:08 a.m. Friday on Highway 34/163 approximately three miles west of Henry Jefferson Avenue. A caller advised witnessing a vehicle going into the ditch. Irvin G. Redburn of St. Louis was driving a 2003 Kia Sedona van east on Highway 34/163 and fell asleep at the wheel. He crossed the median and the westbound lanes of traffic, coming to rest in the north ditch. He was the only occupant in the vehicle; the airbags deployed. He refused emergency medical services twice.
