Shipley Contracting is planning to make the second pour of the white topping on Iris Street either tomorrow (Tues.) afternoon or Wednesday morning, according to Warner Engineering Associates Inc., engineer for the project.
Last Thursday, Shipley placed 950 linear feet of the white topping on North Iris Street, or approximately half of the white topping in the current construction area (north of the center of the entrance to Walmart Distribution to the Winfield Avenue intersection).
Currently, more fabric and steal is being placed in preparation for this week?s pour.
Shipley also will be working on the removal and replacement of the pavement from the center of the Walmart Distribution entrance/exit to where it ties onto the south end of the white topping.
Cole Construction is removing concrete, fine grading and placing the granular sub-base for the sections of PCC pavement, replacement between the Walmart Distribution drive onto Iris Street and the south edge of Winfield Avenue.
Utility companies are locating buried cables and verifying depths (of the buried cables) between Mapleleaf Drive and Washington Street.
Warner officials urged motorists to be on the alert for construction workers while driving within the construction areas. The locating of cables should not interfere with traffic. Cole Construction is scheduled to start receiving storm manholes and intakes either April 22 or 23 and after receipt, will work on storm sewer installation.
There are no planned changes in the road closure established during the next week. The city placed additional signage to help direct the semi traffic at the Grand and Winfield avenues intersection, and the Grand and Mapleleaf intersection to the Walmart Distribution Center.
