MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce along with Main Street Mt. Pleasant joined together in the park with throngs of local community members to produce a community video meant to highlight Mt. Pleasant’s community pride.
The Chamber of Commerce was invited by the governor and other small communities to participate in the #IowansUnite challenge, that challenges local communities to capture a video that shows their pride in their community.
As a reward whoever is voted as the best community will receive a mural from Iowa artist Ben Schuh at no cost.
Executive Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Kristi Perry is excited for the video and astounded at the turnout from the community.
“I’m amazed at today. We have a great crowd, and this is exactly why we wanted to do it. This is an opportunity for us to give something back to all the people who supported us this last year,” Perry said.
Next up will be an internet voting campaign from the governor’s office.
