Braun-Hampton came from Oklahoma City to Iowa to visit a friend in Cedar Rapids and to teach silk painting. Monday afternoon she taught a class of seven women how to paint on silk with each of them completing a silk scarf of their own design. Braun-Hampton taught a second class in silk resist Monday evening.
