Singing Cedars raising funds to move schoolhouse

Singing Cedars School will have a benefit croquet tournament and salmon bake at 1 p.m. Oct. 15 at Round Prairie Park to raise funds to relocate the Peach Blossom schoolhouse from the park to the school grounds.
Singing Cedars, which is in its ninth year serving Fairfield families, was recently awarded the historic one-room Peach Blossom schoolhouse by the Jefferson County Conservation Board.
The event will begin at 1 p.m., with food service beginning at 3 p.m. Tickets for the salmon bake are $25 per plate and may be purchased at the event.
The menu includes choice of two main dishes: blackened salmon topped with sautéed roma tomatoes, kalamata olives, and capers in a tomato basil sauce or grilled salmon topped with spinach and sundried tomatoes in a lemon cream sauce.
All meals include a mixed salad, basmati rice, butternut squash soup and homemade apple pie.
Entrance in the croquet tournament is $15 per participant, and participants must register by emailing Robert Reeder at robert@singingcedars.com on or before Thursday. The winner of the tournament will receive the Singing Cedars Croquet Winners Jacket to display until the next Singing Cedars Croquet tournament next year.
Round Prairie Park is 9 miles southeast of Fairfield on Glasgow Road and 2 miles south on Tamarack Avenue.
