Six arrested in drug bust in Winfield

WINFIELD ? Six people were arrested Friday, Nov. 6, following the execution of a search warrant by the Henry County Sheriff?s Office at 203 E. Ash St. apt. #2, in Winfield. The execution of the warrant was the result of a lengthy investigation by the Winfield Police Department.

Following execution of the warrant, the following people were arrested: Bowe Cook, 23, of Winfield; Christopher Nelson, 31, of Winfield; Timothy Wonders, 63, of Winfield; Damiano Lloyd, 32, of New London; Leslie Shappell, 18, of Mt. Union; and Desiree Harris, 23, of Winfield.

Cook and Nelson were charged with a class B felony of manufacturing methamphetamine in the presence of minors. Lloyd, Wonders and Harris were charged with a class B felony of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. Shappell was charged with a class D felony of possession of a precursor with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

Meth labs, meth lab materials, drug paraphernalia and other signs of meth manufacturing were present in the residence.

Assisting the sheriff?s office and Winfield Police Department with the execution of the warrant was the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, New London Police Department and the high-rise probation/parole office.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilt.
