MT. PLEASANT - A juvenile skateboarding near Fast Break in Mt. Pleasant was hit by a truck and drug a short distance after failing to yield the right of way.
At approximately 2:06 p.m., the Mt. Pleasant Police Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision with a skateboarder at the intersection of Adams and Washington streets on Thursday, Aug. 1. According to a news release, the juvenile was on a skateboard, traveling westbound through the Fast Break parking lot and attempted to cross Adams Street. However, the do not cross signal was showing.
A truck, traveling southbound on Adams Street, and turning eastbound into Washington Street, struck the skateboarder, who was dragged several feet.
