Skid loader accident results in death

MORNING SUN — A skid loader accident in rural Morning Sun resulted in a death last week.

On March 16 at approximately 3:16 p.m. Des Moines County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 18913 240th St. for a report of a skid loader accident.

Deputies were advised that a skid loader bucket had fallen on an individual and he was unconscious and not breathing.

Upon arrival, deputies observed the bucket from the skid loader was detached from the arm and was on the ground. The victim was receiving CPR from paramedics.

The victim was identified as Robert Eugene Mohr, age 47, of Morning Sun, IA. Mohr was transported to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center by ambulance but died from his injuries. This incident is considered an accidental death.
