WASHINGTON - Washington police were busy Tuesday putting 24-hour tow tags on vehicles around town that did not move for snow removal.
There were 55 tow tags put on vehicles, according to the Washington Communications Center.
The tow tags give owners 24 hours to move their vehicles. If the vehicles are not moved they are towed.
During a snow emergency, street parking is not allowed, according to city code.
Police also reported various vehicles stuck in snow drifts and assisted drivers.
At 7 a.m., a truck had rolled on its top in the median with a driver stuck inside on Highway 218 near Riverside. The Riverside Quick Response Service and Riverside Fire responded.
At 7:30 a.m., Washington County Conservation reported being out with a two-vehicle accident at Kiwi Avenue at 250th Street. One vehicle was stuck in the ditch and the other was trying to help them out.
At 9:22 a.m., a caller reported his brother skid into the median on Highway 218 near Riverside. A Washington County sheriff's deputy gave the individual a ride to Casey's in Hills.
At 10 p.m., a caller reported their vehicle was stuck in the snow blocking a roadway at South Avenue C and West Adams Street. Two Washington police officers assisted her in removing it.
