The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center hosted “Sounds Like a Holiday” Thursday night, a combination of a holiday sing-along followed by four locally composed radio plays.
Pianist Doug Daller and organist Dee Sandquist began the evening by leading the audience in popular Christmas carols and hymns. Then, members of the writing group “The Thirsty Word” performed a series of holiday-themed radio plays, each one written by a member of the group.
Participating members of the radio plays were Dave Patterson, Meredith Siemsen, Chloe Hennesy, Warren Goldie, John Grunwald, Emily Martlin, Lou Bolster, Steve Kennevan, T. Lynne Singleton, Tena Edlin and Elizabeth Estey.
The event was a fundraiser for The Lord’s Cupboard, with admission being a non-perishable food item for the Fairfield food pantry.
