FAIRFIELD – A new business is moving into the office previously occupied by Axis Vision Care on North Court Street in Fairfield.
The business will be called Source Vibrations Sound Clinic, and it will open to the public on Nov. 1. It’s a collaborative effort between Jason and Katherine Wild along with Solomon Davis.
The new business, located at 122 N. Court St. in the Masonic Temple building, will offer sound baths produced by gongs, singing bowls and other instruments. Jason is a music producer and composer, and has been working in the field of meditation and sound healing for 20 years.
“I was looking for a place to write music and produce, and when this place became available, it was accommodating to a larger vision so I upgraded the scope of my activities,” he said.
Jason said they didn’t have to do much to the building upon taking possession of it, since Axis Vision Care treated it so well. Axis redid the floors and put in an ethernet network, which the new owners were happy to inherit. The new owners personalized the interior with fresh paint, and added sound panels to improve the sound quality.
Jason said he’s excited to show the public his X1 sound lounge. He said he’s developed 18 sound treatments using beat frequencies to train the brain and alter states of consciousness.
In addition to sound treatments, Davis will lead an adult improv class every week. He said it’s going to tie in nicely with the other activities in the building.
“When you take my class, you’re going into a playful space, and you’ll feel your full body change in terms of how you’re thinking and feeling,” he said.
Jason added, “We’re elevating consciousness through creative play. One of the central themes of our classes and events will be that we’re there to support a more full and free expression of our authentic selves.”
Davis currently teaches improv acting classes to youth at Iowa Dance Collective. He said he’s going to continue in that role after he adds the improv classes for adults at Source Vibrations Sound Clinic. He said the adult class could eventually lead to a public performance, and possibly create an ensemble that performs on a regular basis.
