Police say three men arrested for manufacturing or possession of methamphetamine or precursors to meth in Washington, Wednesday were associated with people still in prison following their arrest on meth charges last month.
Washington Police Capt. Greg Goodman said narcotics enforcement officer Jerry Dunbar noticed a vehicle speeding and recognized it as the one belonging to Ron Whetstine, 27, of Washington. He asked two investigators, Lyle Hansen of the Washington Police Department and Washington County Deputy Sheriff Jim Humpton to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of East Washington and 14th Avenue just after noon on Wednesday.
Whetstine was driving the vehicle; John Edwin Lecompte, 35, of Washington, was a passenger.
Another companion of the two, Richard Dean Brenneman, 27, of Washington, was also arrested for possession of precursory substances.
