DAVENPORT (AP) ? Officials at St. Ambrose University in Davenport have reduced the scale of a planned athletic complex, but nearby residents remain unhappy about the proposal.
The Quad-City Times reports neighbors met with officials at the private university Thursday to discuss the revised plans.
St. Ambrose initially had proposed a 5,000-seat football stadium that drew complaints from residents.
The new plan would reduce the stadium to 2,500 seats. It also includes a 400-meter track, softball diamond, two practice fields and a 470-space parking lot.
St. Ambrose Vice President Mike Poster says the facilities are needed because off-campus fields are inconvenient and often not available.
Neighbors say they remain worried about stormwater runoff, stadium lights and traffic.
