State board votes to dissolve Mt. Union
DES MOINES ? The State of Iowa City Development Board, during its regular monthly meeting Wednesday in Des Moines, voted to honor the City of Mt. Union?s request to unincorporate.
The state board immediately took over as the governing body of Mt. Union. Creditors will be given six months to file claims against the city.

DES MOINES ? The State of Iowa City Development Board, during its regular monthly meeting Wednesday in Des Moines, voted to honor the City of Mt. Union?s request to unincorporate.
The state board immediately took over as the governing body of Mt. Union. Creditors will be given six months to file claims against the city.
Following the six-month period, the former community will become one of four unincorporated communities in the county. The other three are Lowell, Trenton and Swedesburg.
