State representative Joe Mitchell files for reelection

MT. PLEASANT - The youngest member of the Iowa House of Representatives has filed for reelection.
Joe Mitchell (R-Mt. Pleasant) filed nomination petitions with the Secretary of State's office today. Mitchell, who grew up in Wayland, represents District 84 and was elected to his first term in 2018 at 21 years old and assumed office in January of 2019. At the time of his election into office, Mitchell was a senior at Drake University studying business.
Mitchell is committed to working 'to ensure the state has a balanced budget and ensure taxpayers are protected from wasteful government spending” and 'to improve mental health accessibility and ensure Medicaid remains sustainable into the future,” according to his biography on the Iowa House Republican website.
