FAIRFIELD — District 8 of the Iowa Department of Corrections announced last week that Morgan Coleman has been selected as the new Probation and Parole Officer II for Washington County.
Coleman has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Buena Vista University and began her career as a Residential Officer at the Ottumwa Residential Facility in 2007. She was promoted to a PPO position in 2010, and currently works in the Fairfield Office.
Treatment Services Manager Kurt Rosenberg stated, “Morgan has filled in when and where we needed assistance and done great work. She has proven to be adept at case management and has excelled in Pre-Sentence Investigation writing, incorporating risk assessments and treatment options into both.”
Coleman is also very active in the District’s extensive intervention program as she facilitates Moral Reconation Therapy, as well as the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program.
District Director Daniel T. Fell said, “Morgan has done an excellent job in her current role, and is someone we trust to run an outlying office.”
Coleman will be transitioning to her new duties over the next few weeks.
District 8 of the Iowa Department of Corrections encompasses the fourteen Counties of Southeast Iowa and supervises approximately 2,800 adult clients who are on pretrial, probation, parole, and work release.
