Steam engine, wheelchair collide at Old Threshers
A steam engine/pedestrian accident Thursday at the Midwest Old Threshers grounds fortunately did not cause any injuries.
Mt. Pleasant Police were called to McMillan Park at 1:15 p.m., Thursday and learned that Robert ?Doc? Carleton was traveling northbound in his electric wheelchair when he crossed in front of a steam engine.

A steam engine/pedestrian accident Thursday at the Midwest Old Threshers grounds fortunately did not cause any injuries.
Mt. Pleasant Police were called to McMillan Park at 1:15 p.m., Thursday and learned that Robert ?Doc? Carleton was traveling northbound in his electric wheelchair when he crossed in front of a steam engine.
Carleton was crossing the road on the southeast corner of the railroad track and drove in front of the steam engine as it was turning westbound. The engine and wheelchair made contact. The chair tipped onto its left side, pinning the chair under the front bumper area of the steam engine.
Carleton was not injured.
