A Mt. Pleasant man has been accused of stealing a donation jar on Wednesday, April 27, at the Gas Land store in Mt. Pleasant.
According to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Floyd Finger, 54, of Mt. Pleasant, had stolen some peanuts and a donation jar for a victim, who had incurred expenses from a recent car accident, and his family.

A Mt. Pleasant man has been accused of stealing a donation jar on Wednesday, April 27, at the Gas Land store in Mt. Pleasant.
According to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Floyd Finger, 54, of Mt. Pleasant, had stolen some peanuts and a donation jar for a victim, who had incurred expenses from a recent car accident, and his family.
Finger was arrested and transported to the Henry County Jail where he was charged with fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor.
The investigation was partially a result of concerned citizens assisting by calling in suspicious activity, the police department said. The department also urges citizens to call in any suspicious activity to their law enforcement agencies.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
