Stolen vehicle, items found in casino parking lot

RIVERSIDE — A report from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said police found a stolen vehicle during a patrol of the Riverside Casino parking lot early Monday morning.

“After the female and male got into the vehicle, (we) then conducted a felony stop,” an officer said in a court document on the arrests. “We then detained the female, Sheila Stauffer, and the male, Dustin Martin. Dustin had drug paraphernalia in his pockets and the keys to the vehicle in his possession. I could also see a drug paraphernalia in the back seat side of the passenger in a black suit case … A search of the vehicle was then conducted.”

The car contained other allegedly stolen items, according to another affidavit filed in court records. Those items included a Microsoft tablet, a Social Security card with someone else’s name on it, and a visa debit card.

Stauffer (of Iowa City) was arrested, accused of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Martin (of North Liberty) was arrested and accused of possession of paraphernalia, possession of burglary tools, driving under suspension, second degree theft, third degree theft, three counts of fifth degree theft and unlawful possession of prescription pills.
