Stoplight to be operating Friday
Mt. Pleasant Public Works Department employees will observe a sign of the season Friday when they convert the light at West Washington Street and South Marion Street to a stoplight.
The light becomes a stoplight to ensure safe travel for pedestrians, bikers and motorists having to cross West Washington en route to the Mt. Pleasant Aquatic Center.

Mt. Pleasant Public Works Department employees will observe a sign of the season Friday when they convert the light at West Washington Street and South Marion Street to a stoplight.
The light becomes a stoplight to ensure safe travel for pedestrians, bikers and motorists having to cross West Washington en route to the Mt. Pleasant Aquatic Center.
During the months the aquatic center is closed, the light is a flashing light.
The aquatic center will open May 25, city officials said.
