By Brooks Taylor, Mt. Pleasant News
Marty Mabeus didn?t sleep through the night Wednesday.
She was awakened at about 11 p.m., by strong winds ? from three directions. The straight-line winds blew the roof from a hog house and also damaged the doors on a machine shed.

?It was really strange, Mabeus said Thursday morning. ?Jerry (her husband) didn?t even wake up, but I did at about 11 p.m. I watched the flag and the wind was blowing (at different times) from three directions, the south, north and west. It was really strong for about 15 minutes.?
She said there was no rain or hail, only thunder and lightning accompanied the wind.
As far as a repair estimate to cover the damage, Mabeus had no idea. ?Everything always adds up to more than you think.?
There were several reports of tree limbs down in Salem, but no other structural damage.
