SunnyBrook Living Care Center employee tests positive for COVID-19

An employee at SunnyBrook Living Care Center has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a news release issued by owner Betty Howell.

In the release, Howell states that the nursing home was notified of the positive case on Friday, May 15. The staffer testing positive will remain in isolation per Centers for Disease Control guidelines.

'Resident and staff safety remain a priority at Sunnybrook Living Care Center,” the release states. 'Locally, we are working with Jefferson County Public Health, Jefferson County Emergency Management, and Jefferson County Health Center. We are also working with Iowa Department of Public Health, Iowa Health Care Association, and will continue to follow CDC guidance. We will continue to keep disease mitigation procedures in place.”
