Henry County supervisors had a slim agenda for their regular meeting Thursday.
Just one action item appeared on the agenda and the remainder of the time was devoted to supervisor sub-committee reports on the monthly meeting of the Southeast Iowa Link (SEIL) and the Regional Utility Service Systems (RUSS).
The board approved a one-lot subdivision in the section 16 (Ackles Subdivision) in Jackson Township. Jackson Township is in south-central Henry County, just east of Salem.
Board Vice Chair Marc Lindeen reported on Wednesday?s SEIL meeting. SEIL is the regional mental-health services provider, comprising eight southeast Iowa counties ? Henry, Des Moines, Washington, Louisa, Lee, Van Buren, Jefferson and Keokuk.
Lindeen said SEIL has learned it will have to publish the minutes of its monthly meeting and voted to publish the minutes in the Mt. Pleasant News because its meetings are in Mt. Pleasant at the Henry County Emergency Management Building.
SEIL board members, Lindeen said, also discussed future planning. ?We talked about different scenarios in the future, trying to be proactive. However, we can?t be too proactive because state regulations change.?
He also said the group talked about the new overtime compensation law, which becomes effective Dec. 1, and how it will impact each county and the region.
A report of RUSS?s monthly meeting was published in the July 14 News.
Supervisors will meet again in regular session Tuesday, July 19, at 9 a.m., in the Henry County Courthouse.
