With no agenda items, Thursday?s Henry County Board of Supervisors meeting was relegated to supervisors? sub-committee reports.
Supervisor Vice Chairman Marc Lindeen told the board that the Southeast Iowa Link (SEIL) was studying crisis intervention training for law enforcement personnel.
He said the training would be strictly voluntary and is in the very early stages of development.
?It isn?t going to be an overnight situation,? Lindeen said. ?It may take until the middle of next year. We just don?t know how soon it will happen if we decide to do it. Right now, we are studying the feasibility of it.?
SEIL, and eight-county regional mental health consortium, had its monthly meeting Wednesday.
If SEIL decides to offer the training, each county will bear the cost of it equally. Lindeen said the crisis intervention training may be modeled after a similar training in St. Louis, Mo.
Supervisor Greg Moeller gave a report on the board meeting of the Regional Utility Service Systems (RUSS). A story on the meeting appears elsewhere in today?s News.
The supervisors will meet again in regular session Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9 a.m., in the Henry County Courthouse.
