The Hillsboro Public Library?s last ?Surprise Story Time? for the summer was held Wednesday, Aug. 8.
Zoe Runyon read school related stories to the children from the following books: First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg, Horrible Harry Moves Up to Third Grade by Suzy Kline, Don?t Eat the Teacher by Nick Ward and Back to School by Wanda E. Brunstetter.
After story time, attendees were given a paper pair of pants full of candy with a note saying, ?Good Luck SMARTIE Pants (not like you need it).?
The library thanked Zoe and Breeana Runyon for organizing and implementing the ?Surprise Story Time? for the area children to enjoy this summer, and said they did a great job.
The summer reading program is winding down and for the patrons who have not turned in your ?Stars? sheet,? there is still time to turn in your ?Stars? sheet. Aug. 31 is the last day, so hurry in and drop off your ?Stars? sheet and receive a prize.
The first week in September, all patrons who participated in the summer reading program will receive a participation bag of goodies and each participating patron will have a chance to win some prizes of gift cards, games, books or even a candy bar birthday cake. It?s not too late to read another book or two.
