Systems Unlimited has new logo, tagline

IOWA CITY — Big things are happening for Systems Unlimited. On the heels of celebrating its 50th year in 2021, the Eastern Iowa nonprofit is launching a refreshed brand identity that honors its past and looks to the future.

Systems Unlimited was started by a group of parents in 1971 who wanted to ensure their loved ones could live in safe, comfortable houses locally and be taught skills that allowed them to live as independently as possible.

Today, the organization has a much wider array of services along with nearly 1,000 employees who serve Eastern Iowa. The organization has grown from meeting in a one-room schoolhouse, basements, and churches 50 years ago to having a headquarters and service center in Iowa City and providing services and homes in Linn, Jones, Iowa, Cedar, Muscatine, and Washington counties.

“We wanted to stop and reflect on who we are and evolve our look to meet not only where we came from but where we are going,” said Systems Unlimited Board President Renee Smith-LaBarge. “This new logo and tagline really tell our story. Our tagline, ‘Live Your Best Life,’ speaks to our mission. We strive every day to ensure those we care for, their parents and guardians, and our employees can live a rich and meaningful life. Our new look embodies this: reflecting our focus on health, happiness, laughter, and learning.”

Systems Unlimited Director of Development and Communications Jolene Sorenson said the new logo leads with positivity and empowerment.

“Not every day can be the brightest, but we know our goal is to start each day with a smile, positivity, and purpose,” she said.
