The Mt. Pleasant News office closing as COVID precaution

With new cases of COVID-19 spiking in Henry County, the Southeast Iowa Union is closing its Mt. Pleasant office at least until the end of the week.
Someone in the newspaper office may have had contact with a person who tested positive for the disease. No one in the office was showing signs of illness Monday.
As a precaution, the decision was made to close the office for the remainder of the week.
The situation will be evaluated then, and a decision made on reopening the office.
