Thomas ?Tom? Everett Lynchard, Jr., 64, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at the Donnellson Health Center, in Donnellson.

Thomas ?Tom? Everett Lynchard, Jr., 64, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at the Donnellson Health Center, in Donnellson.
A funeral service for Lynchard will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 19, at the Trenton United Methodist Church. Rev. Jeffrey A. McPheron will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery, in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m., on Friday, March 18, at the Kimzey funeral Home, in Mt. Pleasant. The family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friends are also invited to join the family in a meal prior to the funeral at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, at the church.

Lynchard was born on Jan. 4, 1952, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Thomas LeRoy and Hazel Marie (Gates) Lynchard. He attended Mt. Pleasant High School. On June 4, 1971, at the First Presbyterian Church, in Mt. Pleasant, he was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Hamilton.
He started his working career at the Fine and Deep Rock Filling Stations, in Mt. Pleasant. He also worked at the Lil? Duffer Restaurant and the Gibson Discount Store, both in Mt. Pleasant. For 37 years, he worked for the City of Mt. Pleasant. He also worked for the Street Department and the Parks and Recreational Department. He served for a period of time as the director of the Parks Department.
He was a member of the Trenton United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Lynchard is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Mt. Pleasant; and a sister, Martha (Randy) Settles, of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
