FAIRFIELD — Fairfield First Fridays returns to Central Park this Friday with hours of live music, lawn games, food and craft vendors, and of course, art.
The event lasts from 6-10 p.m. Three performers will grace the Ron Prill Bandstand that evening, starting with Deonna Troxel, who will perform from 6-6:45 p.m. She will be followed by Cam Steinbach from 6:45-9 p.m., and Yung Hunny will close out the festivities from 9-10 p.m.
“Hanging out in the park listening to these local/semi-local musicians is a great way to spend the evening,” said Fairfield First Fridays executive director Marla Brader.
Troxel was a guest performer for the Roman Cadillacs when they performed at the June art walk.
The winners of the Jefferson County Trails Council’s Scavenger Hunt will be announced at 7 p.m. with a live drawing. Participants had to collect clues at 10 locations along the trail to be entered in a drawing for prizes including: The Ride: Bike Sales and Service bicycle light kit and T-shirt, Cider House 1949 gift certificate, and the At Home Store gift certificate. This year marks the 7th Annual Scavenger Hunt on the Jefferson County Trails system.
Brader said vendors will continue to be spaced out a little more than a typical, pre-pandemic art walk. Hand-washing stations and hand sanitizer will be available in the park. Masks are not required.
“We want people to do whatever they feel comfortable with,” Brader said.
Brader said art walk is allowing more vendors than it did at the June art walk, though it still won’t be at full capacity. She said the June art walk, the first outdoor event since 2019, gave the organization a chance to evaluate foot traffic and see how far apart the vendors needed to be. Brader said there will be 10 more spaces for vendors at this art walk.
Fairfield First Fridays is adding one food vendor, Rolling Cravings, though Brader said there’s still a focus on encouraging guests to eat at the downtown restaurants.
