FAIRFIELD — Three Fairfield residents were arrested Sunday morning after police responded to a call about a woman who pulled a knife on three people.
Upon further investigation, responding officers determined that the woman with the knife was defending herself from the three people after they had gained entry to an apartment and assaulted one of the residents inside.
According to a news release from the Fairfield Police Department, the three individuals arrested were Ethan Dwayne Nebinger, 19, Clarence Scott Bowermaster, 47, and Jaya Marie Ahluwalia, 21. All three are from Fairfield, and they were all charged with first degree burglary, a Class B felony. They were transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, and held on no bond pending an initial court appearance.
Police were dispatched to the 500 block of West Broadway Avenue at 8:30 a.m. when a caller reported that a female subject had displayed a knife toward the caller, and was refusing to give her dog back. When officers arrived, they located several subjects outside of the residence, who told police that the female subject who lived upstairs had their dog, and pulled a knife on them. However, upon further investigation, police determined that was not true, and that the three subjects had gained entry into the apartment. During that time, a dog, belonging to one of the defendants, had also entered the residence and did not come back out.
