Three members of MP family injured in head-on accident
Three members of a Mt. Pleasant family were injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 34 Nov. 22, west of Danville in Des Moines County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol?s accident report, Russell T. Boyd, 29, of Danville, was driving a 2000 Plymouth Neon eastbound in the westbound lane of Highway 34 and collided head-on with a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, operated by Kelly J. Crooks, 45, of Mt. Pleasant.

Three members of a Mt. Pleasant family were injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 34 Nov. 22, west of Danville in Des Moines County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol?s accident report, Russell T. Boyd, 29, of Danville, was driving a 2000 Plymouth Neon eastbound in the westbound lane of Highway 34 and collided head-on with a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, operated by Kelly J. Crooks, 45, of Mt. Pleasant.
Three members of the Crooks? family ? all passengers in the mini-van ? were injured and taken to the Great River Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Those injured include James Crooks, 47; Jacob Crooks, 16; and Jordan Crooks, 11, all of Mt. Pleasant.
Boyd and K. Crooks were not injured in the mishap.
The accident remains under investigation.
Assisting the Iowa State Patrol at the scene were the Des Moines County Sheriff?s Office and Danville Fire and Rescue.
