Three teenagers injured in rollover near Eldon

ELDON — Three teenage girls were taken to the hospital after a vehicle they were riding in rolled over near Eldon on Monday, Feb. 20.

According to a crash report from the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office, a Ford F-150 driven by Lauren Rae Sloan, 16, of Eldon, was traveling on Highway 16 near Eldon at about noon on Monday when the vehicle entered the east shoulder. Sloan lost control of the vehicle, and it entered the east ditch, rolling 2.5 times before coming to rest on the passenger side.

Sloan was ejected from the vehicle’s side window, and her injuries were classified as “suspected minor/non-incapacitating.” She was transported to the hospital by EMS ground. The report states that she was not wearing a seat belt.

Two passengers in the vehicle, Emarie Ann Finch, 16, of Fairfield, and Kaylin Nicole Hissem, 14, Batavia, were transported to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Both of their injuries were listed as “Possible (Complaint of Pain/Injury)” on the report. They were both wearing seat belts, according to the report.
