Kenneth ?Kenny? Thys, 73 of Fairfield celebrated 38 years of employment with Tenco Industries with a retirement party July 29. Friends and family gathered at Tenco for the party hosted by his employer, and he was presented with a plaque in honor of his many years of service. Thys began his employment at Tenco in 1973 when the workshop was located in the basement of a local church. At that time, they made hand crafted pillows, sock monkeys and many other items that were for sale to the public. Later, the workshop began subcontracting with area businesses, and Thys had the opportunity to choose from a variety of jobs. Some of his favorites were the contracts provided by Harper Brush Works. He resides with his nephew and is looking forward to relaxing and spending more time with friends and family.

Gritz recognized as top producer
For the third year in a row, Neal Gritz, owner of Insurance Resource Center, has been recognized by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield with the Individual Sales 2010 Top Producer Award.
The award acknowledges the expertise and sales experience Gritz uses to find the right product to fit the needs of his cutomers. Less than 1 percent of all Wellmark agents in the state of Iowa achieved this honor.
?I?m really fortunate the residents of Jefferson County recognize the need to have health insurance,? said Gritz. ?As our population is aging, I am discovering our seniors are thrilled to have Blue Corss as a carrier for their Medicare Supplement policies.?
