Tigers dominate Principia in pair of road games
ELSAH, Ill. ? Iowa Wesleyan softball picked up a pair of five-inning road wins over Principia College on Thursday, 10-0 and 9-1.
In the opener, Sonja Holmes got the win on the mound. She gave up only two hits, struck out five and walked none.

In the opener, Sonja Holmes got the win on the mound. She gave up only two hits, struck out five and walked none.
At the plate, the Tigers were led by Mikayla Dwyer, who went 2-for-3 with three runs batted in. Ayla Serrano and Ashley Mysliwiec were also 2-for-3, each with one RBI. Tory Beaver was 3-for-4 with a run knocked in.
Dwyer was still hot at the plate in the nightcap. She again went 2-for-3, this time with a double and a two-run home run.
The Tigers? Dayna Bundy went 2-for-2 at the plate with a solo shot and an RBI. She crossed the plate three times. Andrea Bury was 2-for-3 with three runs knocked in, while Beaver went 4-for-4 with an RBI.
Jillian Leutscher claimed the win on the mound, as she allowed one hit, walked one batter and struck out four.
The Tigers are now 18-13 on the season.
They may be able to play again next week; right now, they?re working on scheduling a make-up game against Knox College on Thursday.
