Tigers drop double dual at home
NEW LONDON ? The New London/Winfield-Mt. Union wrestling team fell to Columbus Community, 55-24, and Muscatine, 58-21, in a double dual at home on Thursday.
The Tigers won four matches against Columbus.
Brody Burns (152) pinned Nick Bloomquist in 1:02, one of three wins by fall for NL/W-MU.
Tanner Schneider (160) also pinned his opponent, Zack King, getting the win in 2:30.

The Tigers won four matches against Columbus.

Kyle Davis (220) won his match by forfeit.
The Tigers had to forfeit five matches to the Wildcats.
The Tigers also had four wins against Muscatine.
Schneider and Gipple each finished with two wins on the night, as Schneider pinned Muscatine?s Alan Chatfield in 1:47 and Gipple won by fall over Cooper Hopkins in 3:09.
NL/W-MU?s Avery Jacobs (285) got a win by decision over Edward Sanders by a score of 8-6.
And Davis picked up another win by forfeit in the dual against Muscatine, but the Tigers had to forfeit six matches against the Muskies.
The Tigers will wrestle again this weekend when they compete at the Highland Invitational in Riverside.
The tournament starts at 10 a.m.
