The scariest monsters and the most valiant superheroes will be strolling with the towns in the county this Wednesday on Halloween Night.
Washington will have a trick-or-treat around the square Wednesday afternoon from 5 to 6 p.m. After the tricking and treating is accomplished, the little ghosts and goblins can stick around for free hot dogs, snacks and drinks, which will be served in Central Park. The town?s trick-or-treat time is from 6 to 8 p.m. that evening.
The American Legion is hosting a costume contest at the WACO Elementary School in Crawfordsville from 5 to 6 p.m. After the contest, the kids will be served treats and can then go looking for them door-to-door.
The Kalona Community Center is the site of a Halloween party at 7 p.m. The Kalona Optimists is putting it on, and in years past the kids have played games at the gymnasium before the costume contest. Trick-or-treating around town will begin at dusk in Kalona.
Wellman is getting in on the spirit, too, with a party from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wellman skating rink. There will not be any skating that evening but there will be plenty of games to play and a costume contest to enter. There will also be free hot dogs. The trick-or-treating in Wellman is from 5 to 7 p.m.
