Tis the Season sponsors New London Fun Day

Tis The Season is a group of volunteers that has worked diligently to provide the community with items needed by the school district.

It is particularly noted for ensuring the New London children have warm clothes for winter. Recently it has become a 501(c)3 organization.

Leader Leslie Fraise made the administrative move so that the group would be eligible to apply for grants and other funding opportunities to meet the needs of both children and adults in New London.

The purposes of the 2023 Fun Day are to say thank you to the community for its past support and to promote the goals of Tis The Season.

An ambitious day is planned for Saturday, July 29.

•8-10 a.m.: Begin with breakfast at Dover Museum (free will donation)

•11 a.m.: Parade

•1-3 p.m.: Car & Bike Show

•1 p.m.: Bags Tournament

•4 p.m.: Community Basket Drawing

Other activities planned will take place at the New London Square.

Many children’s activities including a Bounce House and a Dunk Tank are available. Hometown Vet is sponsoring a free will donation lunch. Standard treats such as popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy are planned.

The VFW is holding a bake sale. A few of the activities such as the Dunk Tank will have a charge, but many are free.

The fundraising event of this first Fun Day is a raffle for the Community Basket. Its estimated value is over $2,000.

New London businesses and organizations stepped forward with some wonderful items. The list includes food, money, gift certificates for many services offered by local businesses and much much more. The proceeds of the raffle will all be used to help New London residents in the coming months.

Be prepared for heat and humidity. Predicted 92 degrees with 34% chance of thunderstorms in the morning. Humidity will be in the range of 61%. A great day of fun is planned for all. Bring your friends and family.
