Traffic stop in New London leads to discovery of mobile meth lab
NEW LONDON ? A traffic stop last night (Mon.) on U.S. Highway 34 at Penn Avenue resulted in the discovery of a mobile meth lab.
The New London Police Department stopped a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier for minor traffic offenses. During the course of the traffic stop, three mobile one-pot meth labs were located in the vehicle.

NEW LONDON ? A traffic stop last night (Mon.) on U.S. Highway 34 at Penn Avenue resulted in the discovery of a mobile meth lab.
The New London Police Department stopped a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier for minor traffic offenses. During the course of the traffic stop, three mobile one-pot meth labs were located in the vehicle.
Michael Carpenter, 23, New London, driver and owner of the vehicle, was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine five grams or more (class B felony), driving under suspension (simple misdemeanor), obstructed vision (simple misdemeanor) and no insurance (simple misdemeanor).
Carpenter also was arrested on an outstanding charge of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine (class B felony).
Assisting at the scene were the Henry County Sheriff?s Office and the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
