Traffic stop leads to drug charges

MT. PLEASANT — On Nov. 2 at 9:53 p.m., the Henry County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 2200 block of East Washington Street in Mount Pleasant for a traffic violation.
A news release from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office stated that after further investigation, the driver was identified as Rakhil Baashia Edgar Lee, 25, of Mt. Pleasant.
Investigation continued and a search was conducted of the vehicle, where amounts of psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana, according to the report.
Resulting from the investigation Lee was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of failure to affix tax stamp (a D felony), possession of controlled substance — marijuana second offense (an aggravated misdemeanor) and controlled substance violation — mushrooms (a C felony).
