MT. PLEASANT — On June 8 at approximately 10:37 p.m., the Henry County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on 235th Street near Graham Avenue in Mt. Pleasant on a vehicle for failure to obey a stop sign and improper registration lamp.
According to a report from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, upon speaking with the driver, later identified as Anthony W. Hird, 37, of Brighton, and the passenger, later identified as Brice R. Pasch, 37, of Ottumwa, it was determined both parties were acting in a manner consistent with a person who appeared to be very nervous.

Resulting from the investigation, Pasch was arrested for possession of controlled substance — methamphetamine (serious misdemeanor), and possession of drug paraphernalia — (serious misdemeanor).
Hird was issued citations for failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way — (non-schedule violation) and improper registration plate lamp — (non-scheduled violation).
