FAIRFIELD – Employees of TrafFix Devices in Fairfield “paid it forward” by donating to a couple of charities last month.
The company’s Employee Planning Committee dropped off donations to The African Violet Foundation Boutique and The Lord’s Cupboard food pantry. The committee consists of TrafFix employees who volunteer their time to put on events and give back to the community.
The committee planned its donation to the AVF Boutique to coincide with “National Cuddle Up Day” on Jan. 6. It launched a month-long coat and blanket drive at the Fairfield plant. Employees rose to the occasion by donating several large bags of blankets and coats.
In conjunction with “National Tin Can Day” on Jan. 19, the committee organized a food drive to benefit The Lord’s Cupboard. The employees again came through and donated several boxes of food and staple items.
TrafFix Devices Plant Manager Mike Parker said his company is proud to be associated with these efforts, and that all the credit goes to the employees.
“This is all driven by TrafFix employees,” he said. “They’re the ones who are doing this.”
Parker said the committee plans to do this type of charity fundraisers every January.
