Trenton woman charged in 2016 burglary in New London

A woman from Trenton was charged with a burglary that occurred south of New London on Dec. 15, 2016.

Abigail Noel, 24, of Trenton, was charged with burglary in the third degree, criminal mischief in the second degree and theft in the second degree after an investigation determined that over $1,000 in property was taken and damaged in the 2016 burglary. All charges are class c felonies.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to the burglary in progress in the 2600-grid of Quincy Avenue south of New London on Dec. 15, 2016. The offenders fled the scene before officer's arrival.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the New London Police Department, Des Moines County Sheriff's Office, DCI Crime Lab, the Department of Corrections and several witnesses and community members.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
