Trial set for Iowa man accused of killing father
MASON CITY (AP) ? A trial has been scheduled to begin Sept. 24 for a Mason City man charged with killing his father.
A written plea of not guilty was submitted on Monday for 42-year-old Thomas Barlas Jr. He?s accused of stabbing to death 73-year-old Thomas Barlas Sr., at the elder Barlas? home in Mason City.
The charge is first-degree murder.
