Truck rolls into Beckers Jewelers in MP

An unoccupied car rolled into Beckers Jewelers at 123 W. Monroe Street in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, Jan. 29, around 6:06 p.m.
Wyatt Phillips, of Mt. Pleasant, left his 2004 Ford F250 vehicle unoccupied when it rolled into Beckers Jewelers, causing damage to the front of the store. Phillips had left his dog in the truck with the truck turned on and the truck may have knocked the truck into gear by the dog, according to an accident report from the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
The truck broke the glass of the store, resulting in $5,000 in damages.
There were no injuries at the scene.
