A dozen citations were issued and one arrest made stemming from a traffic safety checkpoint.
The traffic safety checkpoint occurred on Thursday, Sept. 10, on Grand Avenue, from the U.S. Highway 34 underpass to Jewell Avenue. A total of 12 citations, 76 warnings were issued and one arrest was made during the search from 4 to 7 p.m. The arrest was made for driving with a barred license. Two K9 searches were also conducted at the checkpoint.
Participating law enforcement agencies during the 4-7 p.m., search included the Henry County Sheriff?s Office, Henry County Sheriff?s Reserves, Mt. Pleasant Police Department, New London Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Transportation Enforcement, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Louisa County Sheriff?s Office K9 unit, Henry County Attorney?s Office and the Governor?s Traffic Safety Bureau.
