Two arrested on burglary charges in Ainsworth

AINSWORTH - Two were arrested for a slew of charges including burglary following a report someone was stealing items off their property Thursday morning.
According to the Washington County Communications Media Report, at approximately 9:14 a.m., a caller in the 1700 block of Walnut Avenue in Ainsworth reported catching subjects on the property stealing items. The pair left in a white Ford Edge and at the time of the call, the caller was currently following them.
After a pursuit the vehicle was located and Hector Ivan Lavoz Jr, 32, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested for burglary in the third degree, theft in the fifth degree and trespassing. He as additionally charged with felony eluding, two counts of driving under suspension, failure to obey stop sign and yield to right of way traffic, improper use of lanes on roads marked for three or more lanes and speeding.
The passenger in the car, Ashley McKenna Brockmeyer, 20, of Cedar Rapids was arrested for burglary in the third degree, theft in the fifth degree and trespassing.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
