Two involved in Mt. Pleasant crash on Baker and Cherry
Damages total $9,000; one driver cited for no valid license, failure to yield

MT. PLEASANT — Around noon Monday a crash involving two vehicles occurred in the intersection of Baker and Cherry steets in Mt. Pleasant. One driver was taken to Henry County Health Center by ambulance and one was cited in the accident.
Those involved in the accident include a 2014 Dodge Dart driven by Nathan McWilliams of Mt. Pleasant and a 2009 Buick Enclave driven by Fidelina Ruiz Reyez of Winfield.
The crash occurred at the intersection of East Baker Street and North Cherry Street with damages totaling $9,000 to both vehicles.
Upon arrival rescue crews found that one car was smoking and leaking fluid onto the pavement.
McWilliams was transported by ambulance to Henry County Health Center for evaluation following the crash.
According to the Mt. Pleasant police report, Ruiz Reyes was cited for failure to yield and cited for no valid driver’s license.
According to the police report, Ruiz Reyes had stopped at the stop sign on East Baker when she attempted to cross the intersection and struck McWilliams’ vehicle.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department was assisted by Mt. Pleasant Fire, Henry County Ambulance and Bruer Towing.
