Two Iowa commissioners named to Mid-America Port Commission

The Mid-America Port Commission (MAPC) announced two new commissioners to its board of directors.
Iowans Denise Boyer and Mike Norris were both named to the board.
Boyer, who is from Fort Madison, co-owns Hall Towing, Inc. along with her husband, Jay. They provide an abundance of services to the area, which includes specializing in river construction, towboat rehabilitation, equipment transport, harbor services, commodity and material storage.
She has an extensive history of service throughout the community. Boyer has volunteered on numerous occasions.
Boyer served as a board member on the Fort Madison Economic Development Corporation and is currently a member of the Southeast Iowa Economic and Port Authority in Lee County.
Norris was appointed to the board by Gov. Kim Reynolds.
Currently, Norris is the executive director of the Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission. He is also an administrator of the Southeast Iowa Regional Economic and Port Authority.
Norris has been involved with numerous planning and economic development projects over the years, including statewide projects.
The two officially joined the board on Sept. 13.
The MAPC is the second largest port statistical area on the Mississippi River. It also ranks in the top 25 nationally for its shipment of dry bulk.
